The Basque Country, Madrid, Catalonia, Asturias, Andalusia and Navarra are the autonomous regions with the highest average of students in Degree and Master courses who participate in an exchange programme; with the Basque Country giving the highest average.  This explains why two of its universities, among them Mondragon University, appear among the group of five universities with the most outstanding positions.

Of the 69 Spanish universities participating in U-Multirank, 26 can be found in the top best performers, of which the top 5 in order of ranking are, the University Pontificia Comillas, Deusto University, Carlos III of Madrid, Pompeu Fabra University and Mondragon University.

This information has been prepared by Ranking CYD with data from SIIU (initials in Spanish for the Integrated System of University Information) (MECD-Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport). This study analyses the results obtained by 63 universities requiring physical attendance, public and private, in the indicator “student mobility” of the CYD Ranking. The student mobility indicator relates the number of students, both degree and master, who participate in an exchange programme (Erasmus and others) in a university, over the total enrolled in the university.
