Education Programme - Autumn

EDUCATION PROGRAMME - AUTUMN

We offer two full-time 30 ECTS international courses in the area of Education for Erasmus and Exchange students in the heart of the Basque Country and the prestigious Mondragon Cooperative Movement.

The courses will run in two different semesters. The working language of both courses will be English.

 

General Objectives

The objective of the degree in Primary Education is to train professionals who are able to anticipate the integrated educational needs of their pupils. Professionals who take into account the family, social and cultural backgrounds of children and address them properly. Creative and committed professionals, questioning when it comes to interpreting reality and, at the same time, flexible enough to adapt to a changing society. Professionals who develop empathy to understand children and create a welcoming environment in which to share discoveries and cosy in the investigations share new knowledge, and teaching and language discoveries.

Primary Education - Modules

  • Module 2.6 Deep Learning and STEAM (10 ECTS):
    • The aim of this module is to learn which understanding and communicative strategies children develop through the implementation of multidisciplinary STEAM projects. For that purpose STEAM good practices and the theoretical background of such projects are analyzed. The final goal of the module is to design and make a proposal of a STEAM project while reflecting on the importance of language development of children in such a project.
  • Module 2.4 Me, you, us. We are bodies (10 ECTS).
    • A number of languages will be explored throughout the module. Beginning from the more physical language, moving into art language and to approach learning of socio-cultural bodies.
  • Module 2.7 Practicum (6ECTS)
    • Professional practice relies on the ability to reflect on our own practice and this is necessary for decision making. The aim of this practicum will require the educator to immerse himself/herself in a process of inquiry and research and live the local experience.
  • Spanish (6 ECTS)
  • Basque culture (6 ECTS)
    • The aim of this module is to offer a brief survey of Basque culture centred on some of its most relevant aspects: language, history and education system, in order to understand present day Basque society.

Pre-Primary Education - Modules

  • Module 2.3 Diversity of contexts for children development (12 ECTS).
    • Students in this module learn about children development and early care. By critically analyzing the variables determining diversity in the classroom, students learn to identify the issues that hinder children well being and their active participation in the classroom.
  • Module 2.4 Me, you, us. We are bodies (10 ECTS).
