Objectives and competencies

"You will develop more advanced and sustainable products that transform today’s society."

You will become essential for the company, as you will contribute to make it more sustainable and save on costs and resources whilst develop cutting-edge products or services that are much more competitive and environmentally sustainable.

The goal of this degree is to train you through learning by challenges, in which you will acquire knowledge on advanced technologies, processes and the use of different materials. You will be able to optimise the lifecycle of products, from their origin to the end of the process and the reuse of their materials, lowering costs and reducing their environmental impact.

Thus, for example, one of the challenges you might face will be to replace aluminium with bamboo in various bicycle components in order to assess the possibilities of using lighter and more environmentally sustainable materials.

Nevertheless, you will also have to face challenges related to sectors associated with pollution, such as the automotive industry. You must design an aerodynamic body with multimaterials and innovative manufacturing technologies.

In summary, this degree will enable you to:

eginez

Develop sustainable manufacturing processes

You will get to know all the technical manufacturing processes and be able to analyse and modify them in order to save costs and improve resource management.

Provide solutions to environmental problems in the industry

You will be able to detect future needs in ecological matters, from both a technological and economic standpoint, as well as in terms of social impact.

nazioarekoa

Achieve a cleaner environment

You will learn to recognise and select the best technologies available for the treatment of water and industrial emissions.

Select technologies and materials with a low environmental impact

You will be able to identify and select the best manufacturing method and materials used for each product whilst maximising their efficiency and minimising their impact.

The learning outcomes achieved in this degree are in line with Level 2 of the MECES (Spanish Framework of Higher Education Qualifications).

Students who meet the requirements set out in Decree 47/2012 of 3 April on ‘Recognition of official studies carried out in the Basque Country and exemption from accreditation with degrees and linguistic certificates in the Basque language’,you will be able to obtain exemption from accreditation of the level equivalent to C1 (EGA).
