Job opportunities

“Leading companies in sectors such as the automotive industry, machine tools and 3D printing need you to be more efficient and competitive”

After graduating, you will become an expert in advanced manufacturing and material types in order to promote their technical, economic and environmental sustainability.

The Engineering in Ecotechnologies in Industrial Processes course features several professional opportunities in different sectors. Additionally, you can work in any of the phases related to the development of products or machines, in the manufacturing process or in their installation.

The following are some of the tasks that you can develop in your job:

Professional profiles

Product design

Considering its lifecycle, from the production of the raw material to withdrawal from the market.

Materials area

Develop and select the ideal material for each product, considering the relationship between the manufacturing process and the final properties.

Manufacturing engineering

Design, implement and optimise manufacturing processes based on technical, economic and environmental criteria.

Environmental engineering

Implement systems for the reduction, reuse and recycling of resources, as well as technologies for the treatment of solid waste, water, and air.

Project management

Direct engineering projects and manage work teams.

Quality department

Analyse and direct control processes in order to improve product quality.

Commercial department

Marketing and expansion of projects and services related to manufacturing.

Sectors

After becoming a professional in Engineering in Industrial Process Ecotechnology, you will be able to work in any of the phases of product and machine development, manufacturing, and installation processes. The degree offers you several professional opportunities in different sectors.

Automotive industry

You will be able to participate in both the development of materials and the professed manufacturing of automotive components, improving the sustainability of the sector.

Metal sector

You will participate in the development and optimisation of new metal products and their processes (casting, forging, stamping, etc.)

New technologies

You will contribute to the development of technologies recently released on the market, such as 3d printing.

Aeronautics

You will be responsible for planning, managing and optimising distribution processes in companies such as Eroski, DHL or Amazon.

Engineering

You will be able to analyse and propose improvements that promote energy efficiency and sustainability in large projects.

The training that you will receive in this degree and the professional performances that you will be able to develop are in line with the current and future needs of our society. For example, the new Science and Technology plan “PCTI Euskadi 2020” is aligned with the strategy proposed by the European Union for this new decade, with a view to creating the conditions for a different, smarter, sustainable and inclusive growth. It is one of the three lines of work that includes a commitment to promoting an economy that makes more efficient use of resources, which is greener and more competitive.

In this sense, the Basque Country is a leader in the applied development of the circular vision of the economy, particularly in the industrial field. In the period 2000-2016, the Basque economy grew by 26%, while the consumption of materials fell by 25% and the volume of urban waste discarded in landfills fell by 56%, which shows that it is possible to do things in a different way.
