ULMA and the Higher Polytechnic School of Mondragon University signed a landmark agreement today to work in the fields of technological research, knowledge transfer, and the training of young people specializing in technology, fields in which the two organizations have been collaborating for some time.

As a result of this agreement, the two organizations will promote collaboration and knowledge transfer in the scientific and technological field by implementing training activities, non-regulated training programs, research projects, doctoral theses, and transfer projects.

Furthermore, this will advance the promotion of joint activities that result in the short- and long-term improvement of ULMA’s efficiency and its competitiveness. Likewise, they will develop activities and programs aimed at talent management and the continuous training of technicians, of specialists and of society in general in their common fields of activity.

In the words of Joseba Martínez, Personnel Manager of the ULMA Group: “This agreement confirms the concern of both organizations regarding improving the training of our students and future professionals, a concern that is very closely related to the search, recruitment and retention of talent, an issue that we know already is, and in the future will be even more, one of the greatest challenges for Basque companies.

For Carlos García, General Coordinator of the Mondragon Higher Polytechnic School, “this agreement simply updates and clarifies what has been done since the dawn of time, since the two organizations were founded. The ULMA Group cooperatives and the Mondragon Higher Polytechnic School have maintained stable ties since their inception. The MHPS is undoubtedly ULMA’s best ally in training and knowledge transfer, as it constantly updates the content of its training considering the advances and technological trends that have an impact on ULMA’s activities, and focusing its research largely on its areas of interest. Consequently, dozens of engineers and technicians from Mondragon University join different ULMA businesses every year.".
