The students of the Master's Degree in Logistics and Production Operations Management had an intensive seminar related to Kaizen and process innovation.

The students of the University Master's Degree in Logistics and Production Operations Management of Mondragon Unibertsitatea have attended a 3-session seminar with a visiting lecturer, Dr. Manuel Francisco Suárez Barraza. The topics covered in the seminar were the KAIZEN philosophy and its guiding principles, process innovation and K'aat kaizen (how to guide people towards a common purpose).

Suáres has published more than 50 academic articles and 10 books related to these topics and is currently an advisor and consultant to companies in Mexico. He also gives workshops and trainings to companies and students in different countries.

The Master's Degree in Logistics and Productive Operations Management

The Master's Degree in Logistics and Productive Operations Management trains students to

• Lead and guide high-performance, customer-focused logistics production chains.
• Deploy flexible, dynamic, resource-efficient and sustainable processes, supported by smart, digital manufacturing systems.
• Design and organise strategies for disruptive manufacturing processes, through the paradigm of extended collaboration and fostering people-centred manufacturing.

This seminar on Kaizen and process innovation is a key area for companies to continue their transformation towards sustainable operational excellence and the students of Mondragon Unibertsitatea are being trained for this.

Currently, 15 of the 17 students in the first year of the master's degree are combining their studies with dual training, which allows them to alternate their studies with paid internships in the company. This dual itinerary makes it easier for companies to integrate young people specialised in these new trends and areas in high demand in the market into their teams.
