We already have a winning design for the 2025-26 school year sports hoodie!
From the Sports Service and with the help of the design department of MGEP, we have renewed the design competition of the sports sweatshirt that we launched all the courses. Until now, the competition was organized in autumn (as it has been done in this course) but from now on, we will anticipate this competition to spring, taking advantage of the design students working this subject in their classes and launching them as a learning exercise.
In this way, from the previous course we will know the design of the next and gain margin for the production of the hoodies that we distribute all the courses among the students representing Mondragon Unibertsitatea in the official championships. As a consequence, in this course we have launched two design contests, but from the next course, this competition will be launched only in the spring, and will be open to all the students of the university. After examining the 75 designs presented by the students, the professors of the design department of MGEP and the members of the Sports Service have solved the contest. There have been three finalists (see designs) but the winning design has been the design presented by Luzaide Lizarralde Lejardi.
These are the explanations we have received from the design department:
All athletes share the same root: desire, motivation and initiative. This first step is the starting point of the road and from there arise different disciplines, sharing all the principles. For all these reasons, this design has been desired. From the line that is in the center, for the same BEGINNING, different sports disciplines come out. Design transmits movement and dynamism, trying to visually reflect the essence of sport and its values. Teamwork, effort and equality. The character design is also simplified, without a specific form of hair or gor soup, for anyone to feel identity, regardless of gender or other characteristics. In this way, it is intended to visualize equality and inclusiveness, emphasizing that sport is for all.
