Professors David Balloy and Paulo Martins visit Mondragon Unibertsitatea
Mondragon Unibertsitatea and, specifically, its research group “Advanced Processes of Material Forming” hosted in January 2019 the visit of professors David Balloy and Paulo Martins, from the Universities of Lille (France) and Lisbon (Portugal), respectively.
The visit of Professor David Balloy is motivated by the exchange of students made recently within the Erasmus programme and through which students have worked in the study of mechanical polishing processes. The initial contact between the University of Lille and Mondragon Unibertsitatea has begun because Felix Lemaitre, Professor Emeritus at the École centrale de Nantes and who has helped us so many times, has contacted researchers from both universities to complement his research.
Paulo Martins, from the University of Lisbon, is a renowned researcher with extensive experience in the development of forming processes and deformation bonding technologies. An associate member of the CIRP academy, where he acts alongside several researchers in the conformation scientific committee, he has visited the university to obtain in-depth knowledge of the means and works that are currently underway in the areas of sheet and tube forming, forging of metals, and multi-material bonding. During his stay in Arrasate, he visited the cooperatives Fagor Arrasate and Batz, of the Mondragon Group.
