The end of the course of the II. promotion of the Interuniversity Master of Continuing Education in Hydrogen Technologies (aimed primarily at working professionals) is being very enriching as far as company visits are concerned. The 75 students studying the master's degree in one of its four sites - Bilbao, Barcelona, Tarragona and Zaragoza - have been able to visit the facilities of local companies linked to the hydrogen sector.

Students from the Bilbao branch visit Petronor

The group of students from the Bilbao headquarters visited Petronor's facilities and was received by Manu Nuñez, the director of Petronor Innovation. In addition to receiving extensive information about the Basque Hydrogen Corridor and the projects led by Petronor, they also had the opportunity to see the different refinery facilities and the Control Room in situ.

Students from the Barcelona and Tarragona headquarters visit Carburos Metálicos

The company Carburos Metálicos, which is part of the Air Products group, was visited by students from the Tarragona and Barcelona headquarters at its HyCO plant in Tarragona. This is one of the plants that the company has in the largest petrochemical hub in southern Europe and the Director of the HyCO Plant, Jamie Nicoll, discussed topics such as the hydrogen production process, the filling of hydrogen platforms, as well as CO2 capture.

The Master

The Inter-University Master of Continuing Education in Hydrogen Technologies is aimed primarily at professionals and the third edition will be launched in October 2023.

The objective of this training program is to provide the necessary competencies for students to be able to develop, manage and lead hydrogen technologies and their applications in industry, a specialty aligned with European decarbonization strategies. To this end, the program will once again rely on an excellent teaching staff of recognized active professionals in the industry, as well as university experts and experts from technology and research centers of the twelve driving entities.

Its practical orientation is one of the central axes of this training program, as students carry out regular internships with simulation packages, technical visits to companies, as well as mandatory and face-to-face internships in the laboratory to test the concepts and tools analyzed. The training culminates with a master's thesis applied to a real challenge.
