Within the academic program of Mondragon Unibertsitatea's engineering bachelor's and master's degrees, several activities are organized annually in collaboration with companies. This time, students of the Master's in Biomedical Technologies were able to enjoy a workshop led by representatives of SOPHiA GENETICS.

During the activity, the master's students had the opportunity to learn about precision oncology. Key concepts were discussed, such as liquid biopsy and its application in the detection of genetic variants associated with cancer, a fundamental tool for early diagnosis and the development of personalized treatments. In addition, the students worked in groups to analyze liquid biopsy data, and the group with the best results was recognized with a prize.

SOPHIA GENETICS and the Biomedical Sciences team at the Faculty of Engineering at Mondragon University maintain a close collaborative relationship, which allows for the development of innovative projects and the promotion of young talent in areas of interest.

Master's Degree in Biomedical Technologies

The Master's Degree in Biomedical Technologies is taught on the Arrasate campus (90 ECTS credits; 1.5 years) and offers students the opportunity to combine their studies with dual training (paid internships in companies). The growth of the biomedical industry in the Basque Country is increasing the demand for this profile, which projects a promising career path.
