The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University will offer a new course on innovation and facilitation in education: https://www.mondragon.edu/cursos/es/curso-especializacion-innovacion-procesos-ensenanza-aprendizaje

The course, which was designed in conjunction with TeamLabs, is aimed at education professionals and educational institutions that want to train their staff. The course will begin on March 31 and end on May 15, 2025.

The purpose of the course is to offer and use valid didactic-pedagogical keys both for the general analysis of learning processes and contexts, and for the identification, planning and implementation of lines and proposals for the innovation of those processes and contexts. The following are the objectives of the course:

  • To offer and use valid didactic-pedagogical keys both for the general analysis of learning processes and contexts, and for the identification, planning and implementation of lines and proposals for the innovation of those processes and contexts.
  • To reflect on the value and meaning of the theoretical assumptions with which we approach our educational practices.
  • To identify and characterize our baseline beliefs, assumptions and theoretical conceptions (explicit or implicit), so that they can guide us in processes of analysis and transformation of our educational practices, in our fundamental role as facilitators of those practices.
  • To analyze the different teaching-learning models being developed in education at this time and their didactic-pedagogical keys in order to identify the elements that hinder and facilitate transformative practices.
  • To design proposals for methodological innovation based on their context of professional practice.

Hybrid format

The course will be offered in the hybrid format. Most of the content will be organized online, but there will also be a two-day workshop to be held at Bilbao AS Fabrik on May 9 and 10 (Friday and Saturday). In addition, the course will include two synchronous sessions, each lasting two hours, on dates that will be announced before the course begins.

Instructor

The course will be taught by Xabier Arregi, who holds a PhD in Educational Innovation and is a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. Dr. Arregi’s teaching has focused on the characterization of pedagogical models and on teaching and learning processes, both in general and more specifically in the field of experimental sciences, at different educational stages. In addition to teaching, he has developed and published curricular materials with the same focus.
