On June 4, the Kutxa Bira box arrived at the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. In an event held on the Aretxabaleta campus, a text expressing the wishes of the Faculty was placed in the box.

The Kutxa Bira initiative actually finished on May 30 in Segura, Gipuzkoa, but Audiovisual Communication students Amaia Renobales and Iban García brought the box to the Aretxabaleta campus for the Kimu Berri event, a public presentation celebrating the best End-of-Degree Projects (EDPs) by Audiovisual Communication students. For their End-of-Degree Project, these two students made a documentary following and detailing the Kutxa Bira project.

The Kutxa Bira project was organized by the Ipar Hegoa association, whose objective is to strengthen ties between Iparralde (the northern Basque Country) and Hegoalde (the southern Basque Country). Every year Kutxa Bira week is held in Segura, but due to Covid-19, it was not possible to hold this event last year or this year. Concerned and worried about possible damage to the Basque culture, the Basque language, and relationships among Basques, they decided to organize the Kutxa Bira initiative in conjunction with the Liceo Bernat Etxepare of Baiona.
The Kutxa Bira box has traveled from town to town in recent months, after leaving Patagonia (Argentina) on March 20. The box has visited more than 70 locations throughout the Basque Country. At each stop, representatives from a local association or movement have welcomed the box and placed in it a message expressing a dream of that association.

For their EDP, students Iban García and Amaia Renobales followed most of the journey of the box, taking video for social networks and documenting the entire route in an audiovisual work. They also conducted numerous interviews with members of different popular initiatives participating in the project.
During the Aretxabaleta event, verses (bertsos) were sung, an aurresku was danced, and the message from the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences was placed in the box. The message expresses the desire of the Faculty to continue being an essential collaborator in the expansion of popular activity and of the Basque language.
