The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University has announced the 17th Annual Huhezinema Basque Short Film Festival. In addition, this year’s festival has seen new strengthening of the collaboration with the HAZI organization of the Basque Government, a collaborating entity in recent years. REGISTRATION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS

To submit short films and video clips, interested parties must complete the registration form before November 28. From among the participants, the Huhezinema organizing team will select the best short films to be screened at the festival.

The organizing committee invites all filmmakers and creators to participate in this year’s festival and to share their vision through audiovisual language. The works of the selected finalists will be judged by a jury of film experts and will be screened during the event, offering creators a unique opportunity to disseminate their short films. The rules of the competition can be viewed on the festival website.

CREATION AND ORGANIZATION

The Huhezinema Basque Short Film Festival is an initiative created in 2008 by the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. A project created with the aim of providing Basque filmmakers with a platform where they can publicly present their creative works.

Since its creation, one of the main characteristics that distinguish this festival from others is that every year a new team of students from the Bachelor’s degree program in Audiovisual Communication participate in the organization of the festival, under the guidance of Faculty professors. In the words of festival coordinator Iban del Campo, “the team of students who participate with great involvement, enthusiasm and care in the organization of the Huhezinema Festival and one more year are doing a great job to move the project forward together. The aim is for the students to become familiar with the process of organizing a film festival, first-hand, and in a practical and real way. Working in a team allows them to put into practice what they have learned in the degree program, while fostering relationships with the professional world.”
