Students in the Bachelor’s degree program in Global Digital Humanities present their End-of-Degree Projects

Students in the second graduating class of the Bachelor's degree program in Global Digital Humanities have presented their End-of-Degree Projects, which were carried out in collaboration with various entities. Along with representatives from these entities, Carolina Gutiérrez, Eider Aldape and Carlos Askunze participated in the presentation, which was held at Bilbao AS Fabrik.

Students in the second graduating class of the Bachelor’s degree program in Global Digital Humanities presented their End-of-Degree Projects at the second ‘Poster Day’, which was held at Bilbao AS Fabrik. A total of twelve students presented the results of their work, which they carried out in collaboration with twenty different agents and entities.

The following are the works presented by the students in this degree program:

  • Unai Celaya Barrenechea Analysis of the accessibility of adapted sports in the Territory of Bizkaia to the immigrant population.
  • Uxue Barrutia Ezpeleta Competitive inclusion: binomial inclusion and competitiveness in the development of the Basque Autonomous Community.
  • Ekain Mendiola Ardanza Urdaibai and sustainable development. Regional development experience in the Biosphere Reserve.
  • Aiala Lezika Herrero The importance of collecting neighborhood narratives: analyzing the case of the Deusto riverbank.
  • Naiara Amenabar Moya The social behavior of LLMs in Basque: stereotype detection and automatic assessment.
  • Urko Illia Retegi Urkola Rethinking university cafeteria spaces: a case study of Mondragon University’s dock space.
  • Jare Rodriguez Zabala The transmission of Basque culture through dance: the Kukai proposal.
  • Maialen Borrero Ahedo AA and ESK systems: strategic implementation of Artificial Intelligence systems aligned with corporate values.
  • Idoia Aresti Mendez Aresti Promoting the roots of the Basque Country in the community of the United States: an introduction to the “Euskara munduan” (“Basque in the world”) program and study of the Socioeconomic Development program.
  • Naroa Barriola Goikoetxea Analysis of exclusion from the Development Program of the Mundukide Foundation in Ethiopia.
  • Miren Pascual Beltrán de Heredia The impact of social agents on sustainable development and the Strategic Plan for the future in the case of Zehar-Errefuxiatuak.
  • Nabil Kaoutli Sainz Analyzing the growth of EH Bildu in the context of the rise of the far right.

Round table with Carolina Gutierrez, Eider Aldape and Carlos Askunze

Together with representatives from the organizations where the students carried out their End-of-Degree Projects, round table participants included Carolina Gutiérrez, Head of Art, Technology and Design at the Bilbao Ekintza Economic Development Society of the Bilbao City Council; Eider Aldape, Mondragon University graduate in Industrial Design and co-founder of the Maraka laboratory; and Carlos Askunze, a member of the Mundubat Foundation and the Betiko Foundation, dedicated to research and dissemination.

A round table that underlined the need for public institutions that citizens may see as distant to approach, with the result that the connecting entities between the two must play an important role in creating spaces of trust and empathy.

 

Global Digital Humanities

In the Global Digital Humanities degree program, thanks to internships and projects in companies and institutions, students learn with active challenge-based methodologies and together with social agents, alternating international stays to work on current trends with visits from experts.


We are more than a university
