During the last academic year, while working on the “Creation of new formats and contents” module of their fourth year of study for the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication, Egoitz Diaz Ibargoitia, Gorka Alvarez de Arkaia, Irati Briñas, Malen Lur and Unai Portilla designed a series to be watched on a cellphone app. Once the project was finished, it was presented by Egoitz Diaz, Gorka Alvarez de Arkaia and Unai Portilla at 2deo, Tabakalera’s Laboratory of Basque Audiovisuals, where it won one of the grants awarded by the laboratory.

In addition to receiving funding to create a prototype of the app series, the visit to 2deo served to provide an occasion for our alumni to work with Gaztezulo and the Goiena Communication Group, both driving forces behind ZUT, a new app aimed at young people that offers the webseries Ixa, among other contents.

A total of six episodes of Ixa have been recorded to date. The series is produced in vertical format and, in addition to the videos, it includes complementary contents, for example, stories that the protagonists of the fictional work have put on Instagram.
