10 entrepreneurs / students of the Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation (LEINN) degree of Mondragon Unibertsitatea and another 10 of the “University of the Arts London” in London participate in this project that seeks to promote and develop projects on sustainable fashion and innovation.

The 20 participants from the Basque Country and London will work both in one country and in the other, and will structure their projects based on three challenges. The challenges have a central impact on the Sustainable Development Goals.

1) In the first challenge, social technology will be worked on in the sustainable fashion sector. This initiative affects the Sustainable Development Goal 9, (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).

2) The second challenge will aim at the study of new tissues and SDG number 3, (Health and Wellness) will be applied.

3) The third challenge will be worked with the term of recycling in the fashion sector and there will be direct collaboration with different pioneer brands in sustainable fashion. SDG number 12 will take place in this challenge, (Responsible Production and Consumption).

Given the scenario that the textile industry is the first in resource consumption and the second most polluting, the provincial deputy, José Ignacio Asensio, said at the opening of the day that “the need to act in the face of climate change highlights the need for a paradigm shift in the textile industry, in the need to move towards responsible consumption and production and the need for collaboration between different agents and between different countries ”.
