Reference: EZAGUTZA-7/2022

Sumary of the project:

Main objective:

Generate knowledge to guide through recommendations to SMEs and innovation system actors in the sustainable and just ecological transition based on best in class SMEs (50-250 people / €10-50M) identifying key success factors related to knowledge/technology transfer and exchange in those that stand out.

Specific objectives:

  1. Generation of knowledge on how SMEs manage knowledge and technology in relation to transfer and exchange, both when acquiring/generating them and when valorising or exploiting their knowledge/technologies.
  2. Generation of recommendations for SMEs and support agents, ensuring equitable and supportive treatment including a non-discriminatory and unbiased perspective in the research.

Its main results being:

  • Science and knowledge: To provide more science and knowledge on the phenomena of transfer and exchange in both the academic and business spheres, which support a sustainable and just ecological transition and provide a greater understanding of our reality in Gipuzkoa. On the other hand, the research approach itself will contribute new knowledge to the scientific community. Finally, the conclusions of the project will serve as a basis to the next steps for the continuity of the research.
  • Analysis of the state of Gipuzkoa: Preliminary information on the reality of SMEs in Gipuzkoa.
  • Recommendations for SMEs and support agents, ensuring equitable and supportive treatment including a non-discriminatory and unbiased perspective in research that will serve to:
    • The sustainable and just transition of the remaining SMEs
    • Appropriate support from the administration and supporting actors
  • Jointly identify and define (companies, agents and administration) the challenges faced by SMEs and how the support offered to them can be improved.
