At the end of May, students of the Master's in Industrial Engineering at Mondragon Unibertsitatea welcomed Jaime Fernández, Head of Technology Development at ITP Aero, into the classroom. This company, based in Vizcaya, has a significant international presence, as 5,000 aircraft currently in operation are powered by engines manufactured at ITP.

The presentation began by introducing the company and then shifted to the main objective of the day: to inform students about the advances being made in the aeronautical sector to reduce its environmental impact. Innovations aimed at improving the thermal efficiency of aviation turbines were presented. On the other hand, developments aimed at achieving the goal of net-zero carbon emissions were presented, through solutions such as hybrid and electric propulsion, the use of hydrogen, and synthetic fuels.

The presentation is aligned with the technical content covered in the Master's degree's Thermal and Fluid Engineering course and allowed students to see how companies put the theoretical content taught in class into practice.

Long-standing Collaboration

ITP has maintained a close relationship for more than 15 years with the Polytechnic School of Mondragon University, which has materialized through various types of collaborations: research projects in the field of machining or materials forming, doctoral theses, engineering students in dual training, etc.

Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering

A master's degree designed to provide advanced and specialized training in the field of industrial technology. It is one of the most recognized professions nationwide and offers high employability.

It is taught on the Arrasate and Galarreta campuses (Orona Ideo) and offers a dual program where the first year allows students to combine studies with paid internships, and the second year allows students to complete their final master's project, also in a company (paid).
