Registrations are open for the fourth edition of the Platform Co-ops NOW! course, which starts on April 27 and runs through July 11.

To date, more than 1000 people from more than 60 countries have participated in the training course on cooperative digital platform entrepreneurship given by Mondragon Unibertsitatea and the prestigious New York University The New School.

This online training course encourages team entrepreneurship, the development of new digital cooperative platforms, as well as the creation of a global community. The program aims to raise awareness of the opportunity that platform cooperatives offer, as well as empower people to be able to create new ones.

At a time when the concentration of big tech companies is becoming more pronounced, this course does not simply generate an analysis and monitoring of capitalism.  It prepares people for success as platform entrepreneurs in the exponentially growing ecosystem that is the gig economy. It gives participants the opportunity to analyze, engage and become part of a generation of young leaders experimenting with innovative power-building strategies grounded in cooperative ownership of a new type of cooperative work, platform cooperatives. It is the leap from the "sharing economy" to a truly participatory economy. A shared and democratic ownership economy is possible.

This project arises from the collaboration through a consortium supported by CEPES Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy and with TAZEBAEZ, Union of Cooperatives EspazoCoop, School of Social Economy, Florida International University and Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

The Institute for the Cooperative Digital Economy is based at The New School, a legendary progressive university in New York City. It is the research arm of the Platform Cooperativism Consortium, PCC for short, which is a hub for all who want to launch, grow or become platform cooperatives. This Consortium is led by researcher and expert in this area Trebor Scholz.

Since January 2022 Trebor has joined the Mondragon Team Academy entrepreneurship unit of the Business School of Mondragon Unibertsitatea to develop a stay and develop research, training and incubation projects on cooperative digital platforms.

This incorporation arises from the creation of a global community to give more visibility to this type of cooperatives called "Digital Cooperative Platforms".
