The new Degree in Business Data Analytics began in Bilbao at the beginning of September with 42 bdaters
The Degree in Business Data Analytics began in early September with 42 bdaters in Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria and with a welcome week full of activities: from talks to know in detail the degree and the different agents that compose it, to a round table with Microsoft , Everis, Laboral Kutxa and Euskaltel, dynamics to define the learning contract, teambuilding activities and creative sessions to decorate their office.
The second week was the launch of the first challenge led by the Bilbao City Council and with the collaboration of Idealista. In this first project, the bdaters will have a period of 6 weeks to "get to know Bilbao through the data" and present insights of interest to their customer, Manu Roibal, Director of Data Strategies at BilbaoTIK.
The bdaters, by teams and accompanied by the Project Managers, will have to raise and validate hypotheses about different indicators (social, demographic, economic, environmental) of the neighborhoods of the city of Biscay: Are the neighborhoods with the highest pollution the highest income do they have Or are the neighborhoods with the highest income, a voter of certain political parties?
In recent weeks, the different subjects of the degree in Business Data Analytics, Data science, Programming, Data Visualization, Mathematical and Statistical Foundations, Business and Data, Economics and Data and Digital Ethics have started. Through different learning spaces (experts in the classroom, unguided learning, project monitoring, etc.), bdaters begin to acquire basic technical knowledge, to develop skills and, above all, to interconnect all these worlds so that they can identify solutions complete in the challenge of "knowing Bilbao through the data".
