The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University and the City Council of Eskoriatza signed a collaboration agreement on July 7 to regulate the use of spaces of public domain and easement of public use adjacent to the Faculty’s buildings on the Eskoriatza campus. The specific purpose of this agreement was for the two entities to reach an agreement that regulates these spaces.

The main objective of remodeling the Dorleta building on the Eskoriatza campus was to create spaces and contexts that adapt to the educational plan. Among other things, the aim was to construct a space that would make it possible to work on a set of features that are meaningful for the Faculty and its educational plan, and for this purpose, the support and availability of the City Council of Eskoriatza was decisive.

The renovation took into consideration the relationship with the community, that is, with the town, the buildings and the people who inhabit them, among other aspects,

and this is confirmed by the directives of the agreement and the various uses of the outdoor space.

Additionally, the agreement serves to establish the possible terms of transfer of land to public domain, as well as the use and maintenance of private domain areas with easement for public use, and of their components.

Both entities took the opportunity to reaffirm the idea of continuing to collaborate closely in various projects.

Nagore Ipiña, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University, emphasized that the City Council of Eskoriatza is a key agent for the Faculty, and an example of this is that the City Council serves on the governing council of the cooperative. “This will allow us to continue strengthening relations with the people of Eskoriatza and the community,” the Dean added.

For his part, Eskoriatza Mayor Edorta Zubizarreta confirmed the idea of continuing to collaborate with the university. In the words of the mayor, “the relationship with the University is essential for us and we want to strengthen it”.
