Training plan for DUAL Programme tutors
Training plan for DUAL Programme tutors
Those who tutor the DUAL Programme, both at university and in companies, receive training with the aim of strengthening and standardising the assessment system and improving coordination between the parties.

Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa continues to promote the excellence of the DUAL Programme through a training plan aimed at those who tutor students, both in companies and at university. This initiative has been running since 2018 and combines editions in companies and at university.
The objectives of the programme are:
- To train those who are going to join as tutors for the first time.
- To update experienced tutors.
- To guarantee consistent, coordinated and high-quality monitoring and support for students.
Training for company tutors
Over the last two years, we have strengthened our collaboration through training courses at different companies such as AMPO and Grupo FAGOR. This collaboration allows us to share best practices, unify visions between universities and companies, and reinforce a shared tutoring model that places the student at the centre.
During the 2025/2026 academic year, training for company tutors was held at the IKERLAN Technology Centre, with around thirty people taking part. The session covered the main aspects of tutoring: assessment based on learning outcomes, the design and monitoring of DUAL projects, planning student progress and the use of digital resources for recording this progress.
Training for university tutors
Those who tutor students at the university also receive training sessions. This year, sixty-four university lecturers participated, and the main topics covered were: the alignment of shared methodologies, internal coordination and links with collaborating companies.
These training sessions, aimed at both company and university tutors, were given by members of the DUAL Programme Coordination Group: Josu Galarza, Mikel Ezkurrra, Osane Lizarralde and Leire Markuerkiaga. The participation of this team in training sessions in recent years has made it possible to offer a coherent vision of the model, integrating the experience acquired over the years and providing everyone with a unified framework for action.
Basic elements of DUAL training
These training courses delve into the basic elements of the DUAL model:
- Clear and joint assessment based on learning outcomes.
- Well-defined project design.
- Continuous and constructive feedback.
- Effective university-business coordination.
- Personalised preparation/monitoring of students.
To this end, practical workshops, analysis of real cases and resources directly applicable to daily work are used.
This work, carried out year after year, offers solid results for both tutors and students. Tutors have a clear and unified framework for action that offers them greater confidence in assessment and up-to-date working tools. Students, for their part, receive more consistent support, participate in well-defined projects and receive an assessment based on learning outcomes that prioritises personal development, improving their training for the world of work.
