The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, in conjunction with ESCAC, will offer a free course on ‘Sound and the use of the mixing board’
The course will be free and will be taught from May 6 to July 8 on the Aretxabaleta campus of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. It was designed in conjunction with the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya, ESCAC).

Registration: Sound and the use of the mixing board
Sound and the use of the mixing board will be offered from May 6 to July 8 on the Aretxabaleta campus of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The course was designed in collaboration with the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya, ESCAC) and will be offered free of charge. Registration will be available on the ESCAC website.
In this course, participants will study the fundamentals of audio, including key concepts such as frequency, gain and equalization. The sessions will focus specifically on using a mixing board for live performances, and on developing the practical skills needed to set up and operate sound systems. The participants will learn techniques that are essential in order to achieve clear and professional audio.
Objectives of the course
No prior technical knowledge of sound engineering is required, but participants should have an interest in sound, music or show production, as well as basic knowledge of audiovisual technology and equipment.
The objectives of the course are to provide a solid foundation in the basic concepts of sound and their application in performances, to familiarize students with how to set up and operate the sound equipment used in live performances, to teach students to install and adjust audio systems, for students to develop skills in diagnosing and resolving technical sound problems, and to promote collaboration and teamwork within a live production environment.
A free course
The course is free, however a deposit of 150 euros is required. This deposit will be returned to the same account from which the payment was made upon completion of the course with at least 80% attendance.
This course was designed in collaboration with the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya, ESCAC) as part of the Fast Forward by ESCAC program created with European funds from the Next Generation program.
