The conference will take place online and will feature Compulsory Secondary Education teachers who participated in the three STEM projects that will be shared; Catalan researcher Mireia Usart Rodríguez will also give a talk.

On June 8, the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University will hold a conference to share different STEM experiences. The conference will take place online and three experiences related to STEM projects will be presented: STEMotiv, 3Kimu and STEM HUB.

Faculty instructors who have carried out these three projects will participate in the conference, as will teachers who have led the projects in the Zumaiena, Lea Artibai and Arizmendi schools. Additionally, Mireia Usart Rodríguez, researcher from the ARGET research group and professor at the University of Rovira y Virgili in Catalonia, will give a talk explaining the STEM projects that she is currently working on with her research team.

The event is open to the public, but interested parties must register in advance.

    • STEMotiv: Patricia Aránzazu González Atutxa (Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences) and Koro Epelde Nazabal (Zumaiena School, Zumaia).
    • 3Kimu: Naroa Elortegi García (Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences) and Iñaki Plaza Azkarate (Lea Artibai School, Markina-Xemein).
    • STEM HUB: Ainara Bilbao Eraña (Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences) and Aitor Ciardegui Iriarte (Arizmendi School, Arrasate).

The conference will be led by Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences professor Irati Romero Garmendia.

The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University believes that in an era like the present one, in which the importance of the STEM educational model is evident, it is important not only to teach Compulsory Secondary Education students to be interested in and motivated to do these types of studies and jobs, but also to train school teachers in all aspects related to STEM disciplines.
