Beginning in January of 2023, the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University will offer a new course: the expert certification in STEM and digitalization in new educational contexts. The course is aimed at education instructors, directors of pedagogical management, and digital mentors of the Berritzegune support services.

Two tracks

This new certification seeks to strengthen the profile of educational professionals responding to the possible deficiencies or needs that may arise in today’s teaching profession. For this purpose, the participants will be able to choose between two tracks: digitalization and STEM.

Digitalization track. This track will train people who will lead and design the technopedagogical processes of digital projects in educational centers. The participants will develop a technopedagogical perspective and work on their digital competency from a critical point of view. The objective is for them to be able, once they have completed the course, to promote innovative learning and teaching processes in the classroom. People in the digitalization track will achieve the following exit profile:

  • Leader of digital projects in the school.
  • Head of technopedagogical design in school learning contexts.
  • Manager and trainer of the teaching staff of a school.

STEM track. This second track is especially aimed at school leaders in the STEM educational model and at designers of STEM projects. In this track, knowledge of the sciences, technology and mathematics will be addressed in depth, all from an educational approach of integrated teaching and learning. The STEM track will focus on scientific-technological literacy, and on the potential of the STEM educational model, with the aim of achieving the competencies necessary to offer a quality STEM education to all students. The exit profile that participants in the STEM track will achieve is the following:

  • Head of design of the STEM educational model.
