On Wednesday, October 28, Soziolinguistika Klusterra will hold its 12th annual Sociolinguistics Conference. The event will take place at the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences on the Eskoriatza campus of Mondragon University. This year’s conference will focus on the linguistic reality of youth. Results and conclusions from various investigations, projects and interventions will be presented at the full-day conference.

The conference will present research, innovation and development projects currently being carried out, from the perspective of the revitalization of the Basque language among young people and adolescents. This year, there will be two ways to participate in the conference: in-person or streamed.

The conference will be divided into three parts. The first part will consist of presentations about three projects sponsored by Soziolinguistika Klusterra. The second block will include brief presentations about ten research and intervention projects, organized in two panels. The conference will conclude with a round table by three researchers: Jone Miren Hernández (University of the Basque Country), Jone Goirigolzarri (University of Deusto) and Pablo Suberbiola (Soziolinguistika Klusterra). Registration for the conference will be open until October 23. The general registration fee is 55 euros; there is also a reduced rate of 40 euros for students, the unemployed, and members of Soziolinguistika Klusterra. Streamed sessions will be available for 15 euros.
