This year, students in the second year of myGADE at the Bilbao AsFabrik campus have dealt with the issue of Food Waste, focusing on the lack of awareness and habits to reduce food waste in the Basque Country.

In order to find a solution to this problem, they decided to collaborate with different entities to carry out awareness talks aimed at the students of the Business School of Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

Thus, they contacted the Zero Waste project of Elika (a foundation promoted by the Basque Government for the improvement of Food Safety) and Oreka (a company that offers companies to donate their food surpluses to non-profit organizations in a safe, transparent and automated process). The students organized two talks for myGADE 1, which took place during the "Garapen Astea", with the aim of raising awareness among young people of the problem of food waste that occurs in households, and how the fight against it is not only in the hands of large entities that produce and market food, but it is in the hands of all of us to change our habits towards more sustainable ones.
