Mondragon Unibertsitatea has launched a new edition of its competition to promote sustainable-based technological or industrial entrepreneurship projects that are in their initial phases. The competition, called 'Mondragon Unibertsitatea Industrial Sustainable Entrepreneurship Awards', aims to allow engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea to join technological projects in order to collaborate in the implementation of these initiatives. To this end, the competition will award more than 100,000 euros in the form of scholarships, aimed at incorporating engineering students from the University into the project for a minimum of three months and a maximum of two years.

Depending on the needs of the technological project, the entrepreneurial team can choose the profile of engineering student they want to incorporate into the project: mechanics, design, organization, electronics, computer science, energy, industrial processes, biomedical, mechatronics, robotics and cybersecurity, among others.

100,000 euros on scholarships

Scholarships can be awarded in different amounts and modalities: bachelor's degree final projects, master's degree final projects or dual vocational training, but all of them will be developed through scholarships to incorporate STEM talent into the entrepreneurial project.

Along with the scholarship, the award-winning teams will receive technological support from research groups from the Faculty of Engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, individual support in entrepreneurship, group training on the company; accompaniment for access to other sources of financing and support, an office space where the project can be launched, and advice on industrial and intellectual protection.

The ideas submitted to the competition must be original, although projects that have been presented in previous editions of the competition and that have not been awarded may be submitted.

The 100,000 euros prize that the contest will award have been possible thanks to the support of FAGOR, Orbea, and Corporación MONDRAGON, the main promoters of the contest. Gaztenpresa de Laboral Kutxa, Saiolan, GARAIA and Galbaian also collaborate in the competition. All of them are involved in promoting technological talent, job creation and wealth in the territory.
