India has always been a destination of our Learning Journeys during the third year of LEINN. A BRICS destination that helps us understand innovation from another perspective, develop highly critical and analytical thinking and flow in ambiguous and changing environments.

The learning objectives during the trip are many, among them: to learn about emerging global trends and become aware of the impact and transformation they generate, validate the ideas of the Team Company in new markets or crystallize the most internal reflections in a Personal Manifesto, a declaration of principles that serves as a compass and inspiration for the future.

To find out what the return has meant for us, we have the voice of 3 LEINNers who have lived this learning journey. They are Alain Rodríguez, Maria Jornet and Uxue Iruretagoyena Andres, LEINNers from the Oñati and Valencia laboratories.

When asked why they believe Learning Journey is important, the reasons given were various.

While Alain believes that "it is a key moment in the LEINN process and the experience can be totally different depending on the point of view from which it is done", Maria talks about the great complexity of traveling to Asia and taking the leap out of the comfort zone as a Team Company. Uxue, on the other hand, feels fortunate to have experienced this as a team entrepreneur and to see the possibilities of social entrepreneurship. In short, she says: "Our process has been enriching, exciting and incredible".

Regarding the question of what they have learned in India, the answers are very clear.

It is a country that generates "restlessness, sadness, helplessness and happiness" says Uxue while Maria cites the diversity and complexity with a rich culture and an economy in constant growth. In this growth Alain speaks of "even if it is local people who carry out the project, with the intention of helping a particular community, the interests of the "bosses" can also be simply to profit and make money. Capitalism is also present".

When asked how the trip has helped them in their learning process, they share their reflections with us.

On the one hand, to give a boost to projects such as Women of the Moon where Alain participates. Beyond the projects, Maria says that it has been key to know herself better and be aware that she wants to work side by side with people. Together with this, Uxue shows that it is time to take action: "After the experience it is difficult to ignore that there are truly unfair and harsh realities; I feel an enormous impotence and it makes me reflect on what I could do as a person and entrepreneur to combat all the challenges I have seen".

When asked what this trip has meant for their respective teams, several questions have been highlighted.

Before embarking on the trip, teams like Bennu (Team Company of Oñati Rocking Lab) felt fear and pressure to travel to India. Once at their destination, they enjoyed and experienced every moment. In addition to connecting on a more personal level as Maria comments, "I have reconnected with myself through love, kindness and sincere affection", the trip has created a positive impact on the teams: "we have created a strong bond between us and with the country itself, having the opportunity to meet amazing companies and communities and being surrounded by incredible people. People who at the beginning of the trip said they didn't want to go to India now want to come back and continue exploring new corners of the country". In this experience Maria remembers Leadership Week with special affection.

Uxue comments that "one of the things we are most proud of is that we were able to react responsibly and respectfully to their culture, respecting their customs and habits". In addition, the teams have had to ask themselves questions such as: If we want to help the community, do we involve them in the design of the solution? Can we know better than they do what they need? What is the real purpose of social projects created in developing countries? Would the NGOs be willing to cease their activity if they see that their help is no longer necessary?

And finally, they were clear when answering what they take away from the trip and how it has impacted them.

In spite of the difficulty of answering this question, Uxue keeps the values transmitted by certain religions such as eternal happiness, freedom, mutual love, kindness or truth... Along with the diversities that Uxue also comments, Maria adds aspects such as reflecting on our comfort zone, the infinity of social projects that they have been able to visit and the personal growth of inspiring people, such as Amine, creator of Mumbai to Barcelona cafe

Finally, Alain talks about how it has helped him to understand that what we do makes sense and is necessary, both in the action at the destination at the community level, as well as in the preparation of a conscious society when traveling.
