Mondragon Team Academy and Social Factory at Mondragon Unibertsitatea will take part in La Gran Kedada Rural on 25 September in Kuartango (Álava), with a practical Design Thinking workshop focused on generational succession in rural businesses. They will also launch a special call from their incubator aimed at rural projects
Mondragon Team Academy (MTA) and Social Factory at Mondragon Unibertsitatea will once again take part in La Gran Kedada Rural, an event bringing together entrepreneurs, local and regional stakeholders, institutions, social innovation professionals and people interested in the present and future of rural areas. The event will take place in Kuartango from 25 to 27 September.
Under the slogan “Dive into the New Rurality”, the sixth edition of La Gran Kedada Rural will feature three days dedicated to talent, culture and tradition, with almost 40 activities, 40 speakers and 11 artists. Friday 25 September, dedicated to Talent, will focus particularly on professionals and stakeholders working in and with rural territories, creating spaces to reflect, connect and develop solutions to rural challenges.
A workshop focused on rural generational succession
As part of this programme, the Social Factory team at Mondragon Unibertsitatea will lead “The Rural Succession Challenge”, a practical workshop based on the Design Thinking methodology.
The session will address, through teamwork and co-creation, one of the challenges facing many rural areas: how to facilitate generational succession in viable rural businesses and prevent them from closing due to a lack of continuity.
The workshop will take place on Friday 25 September, as part of the Talent programme, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm in the Baias Room at Kuartango Lab. The session is designed as a space to move from reflection to action and to develop practical solutions around rural succession.
Mondragon Team Academy’s involvement in the event is closely linked to its commitment to challenge-based learning, entrepreneurship and social innovation, bringing methodologies and capabilities to concrete challenges faced by territories and communities.
A special call for rural projects
In addition to the workshop, Mondragon Team Academy will use its participation in La Gran Kedada Rural to launch a special call from its incubator aimed at rural projects.
The initiative will seek to identify and support new entrepreneurial proposals that can contribute to the transformation of rural territories, providing people and teams with projects an opportunity to develop and strengthen their initiatives.
The call forms part of a broader understanding of the new rurality: not only preserving existing activities, but also creating new opportunities, attracting and supporting talent, fostering innovative initiatives and developing new ways of engaging with and contributing to rural territories.
Three days to experience the new rurality
La Gran Kedada Rural will take place from 25 to 27 September at Kuartango Lab, combining entrepreneurship, social innovation, culture, music, literature, crafts and local products.
Friday will focus on Talent, bringing together workshops, round tables and projects addressing issues such as funding, housing, youth, retail and rural succession. Saturday, dedicated to Culture, will combine artistic, musical and literary activities. Sunday will focus on Tradition, with free admission and activities for all audiences.
Through its participation, Mondragon Unibertsitatea reinforces its commitment to territorial development and to generating the knowledge, capabilities and entrepreneurial initiatives needed to address territorial challenges through innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration.
