Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa promotes industrial specialisation with the new Expert Diploma in Power Electronics and Electrical Machines

This week we have started the new Expert Diploma in Power Electronics and Electrical Machines, a specific degree taught at the Bilbao AsFabrik campus and which was created to respond to the growing demand for highly specialised talent in the field of industrial electrification and energy transition.
The programme has as students professionals from leading companies in the sector such as ITP Aero, Ingeteam, Sener, Ormazabal and MSI Grupo, thus consolidating training closely connected to the real needs of the industry.
A direct response to the challenges of electrification
Power electronics have become a key technology for the development of electric vehicles, renewable energies and advanced energy storage systems. In this context, the university has designed a specialized program that combines academic rigor, practical application and industrial orientation.
The diploma aims to train engineers capable of addressing the design, modelling, analysis and control of advanced electrical systems, filling a specific training gap identified by the business sector.
Practical training for the industry
With a total load of 25 ECTS, the program is structured in advanced technical modules that cover:
- Design of electrical machines
- Modeling and analysis of electrical machines
- Advanced Power System Control
- Design of electronic power converters
- Electronic Power Converter Analysis
The practical approach is one of the pillars of the degree, including intensive simulation activities, as well as a Final Project in which participants integrate the knowledge acquired to solve real challenges in the industrial field.
Specialization compatible with professional activity
The course is aimed at both active professionals in the energy, automotive or industrial machinery sector and young engineers who seek to orient their career towards design and R+D+i positions. Its face-to-face and concentrated format makes it possible to combine training with professional activity, also making it easier for companies to update and retain talent in strategic technologies.
