A total of 53 students have completed this Dual Vocational Training programme, recognised with the 2026 Excellence in Vocational Training Award for its quality, innovation and impact on employability.
Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa and Amazon have celebrated the graduation of the second class of the Industrial Mechatronics Apprentices programme, a Dual Vocational Training initiative that continues to consolidate itself as a model of collaboration between the educational field and business to train highly qualified professionals.
After two years of training, a total of 53 students, 39 from the national program and 14 from the transnational program, have obtained the title of Higher Level Training Cycle in Industrial Mechatronics. This second promotion represents a significant growth compared to the first edition, held in 2025, in which 20 students completed their studies.
One of the highlights of this promotion is that 14 of the graduates will continue their training itinerary to also obtain German recognition in Mechatronics, thanks to the collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain. This international accreditation will expand their professional opportunities and reinforce the global nature of the training received.
The Apprentices programme was born in 2023 as a result of the collaboration between Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa and Amazon, with the aim of responding to the growing demand for profiles specialised in Industrial Mechatronics within the logistics sector. The program is developed in dual mode, combining the academic training taught at MGEP with practical training at Amazon's logistics centers located in Madrid, Seville, Girona, Murcia and Toledo.
This initiative is developed in collaboration with the Vice-Ministry of Vocational Training of the Basque Government and is an example of the ability of Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa to adapt its training offer to the specific needs of companies. Maintaining the official contents of the training cycle, MGEP has designed a format that allows classroom learning to be integrated with real experience in industrial environments, favouring highly qualified job placement.
The development of the programme is possible thanks to the coordinated work of the teaching staff of Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa and the people responsible for tutoring in Amazon's logistics centres, whose work is essential to guarantee the quality of the learning process and the accompaniment of students throughout the training itinerary.
The quality of this training model has recently been recognised with the 2026 Excellence in Vocational Training Award, awarded by the Bertelsmann Foundation and the CEOE Foundation. The award distinguishes innovative Vocational Training initiatives for their impact on employability and recognises the Dual Vocational Training model developed jointly by Amazon and Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa.
