The course entitled Keys to the Mondragon Cooperative Experience, which is run by the LANKI Institute of Cooperative Research at Mondragon University, will be offered online, in Spanish and English, and is aimed at international students. The course will start on February 19 and end on March 22.

In the course you will learn about one of the most cutting-edge cooperative ecosystems in the world: the Mondragon Cooperative Experience. This socio-business project, which brings together more than 70,000 people, includes some 81 cooperatives, a university and 12 R+D spaces.

The course, which is offered by the LANKI Institute of Cooperative Research, is aimed at students, professors, researchers and international cooperative members interested in the Mondragon Cooperative Experience. In general, this program is aimed at all those interested in research on cooperativism and at those who work in the field of social economics. It is mainly aimed at students from outside the Basque Country and this is why it is offered online, in Spanish and English.

Program

The course consists of two blocks: a 75-hour online course and a one-week stay in Arrasate.

The first section will address topics such as an introduction to the concept of cooperative enterprise, the roots of the cooperative experience of the Mondragon Corporation, its historical evolution and keys, intercooperation, the cooperative company as a tool for social transformation, and the future challenges of the cooperative model.

The aim of the visit in the second part of the course is for participants to become familiar with the Mondragon cooperatives first-hand and expand their knowledge of this socio-business project. The visit is optional and participants must have previously completed the online course.

Financial assistance

There will be a total of five scholarships available for this course. These scholarships will be funded within the framework of the UNESCO Chair in Social and Solidarity Economy, of which Mondragon University is a member. In order to apply for a scholarship, the applicant must be a member of an organization that is part of the UNESCO Chairs network.
