Several members of the fluid mechanics group participated in the twenty-eighth biannual ELGRA conference
The biannual conference, which is organized by the European Low Gravity Association (ELGRA), was held on September 3-6 in Liverpool.
This conference brought together members of the scientific community interested in the physical and life sciences and in earth and space technology. As part of the DCMIX project of the European Space Agency, Professor M. Mounir Bou-Ali, Professor Valentina Shevtsova, Dr. Peru F. Arroiabe, Dr. Ane Errarte, and 2nd-year doctoral student Antton Sanjuan presented oral and written communications regarding absorption dynamics in LiBr-H2O mixtures and the transfer of mass as it relates to temperature gradients.
During the conference, Dra. Ane Errarte won the el premio ELGRA Reseach Prize to fund the development of a new research project entitled “Melting process and flow analysis of phase change materials: particle imaging by event-based velocimetry” on the analysis of convective fluxes during the melting process of phase change materials. This award will allow Dr. Ane Errarte to begin her professional development in research excellence as a member of the teaching and research staff of Mondragon University’s Higher Polytechnic School.
