During the talk, Ocerin analysed Maier's strategic evolution from its creation to the present, highlighting that the company's growth has not been linear. He explained the different stages that the cooperative has gone through and how the strategic decisions taken in each of them, both the right ones and those that have had more modest results than expected, have influenced its current positioning. This vision has allowed students to understand strategy as a continuous learning process.

The speaker also delved into how the strategy is currently worked on in the company: from the analysis of the external environment (markets, customers, technological trends and regulation) and internal capabilities, to the definition of the corporate strategy.

He also explained how these strategic objectives are connected to the daily activity, the business units and the different product areas, as well as the monitoring of the strategy as a dynamic and constantly adapting process.

For Industrial Engineering students, this topic is of special relevance, as it allows them to understand the relationship between technical work and the strategic management of the company. In addition, it is a content fully aligned with the master's degree, which facilitates connecting the theoretical frameworks worked on in the classroom with the industrial reality.
