Lander Beloki appointed Rector of Mondagon University
The appointment will take effect on January 1, 2027.
In the statement issued by the President of, it was announced that today, 24 September, the Governing Board of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, meeting in an extraordinary session, has agreed to appoint Lander Beloki, currently Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, as the new Rector of Mondragon Unibertsitatea. The appointment will take effect on 1 January 2027.
The statement also informs that the current Rector, Vicente Atxa, will conclude his tenure at the head of Mondragon Unibertsitatea on 31 December 2026, upon completing his third term in office after twelve years of service.
It notes that his leadership has made a decisive contribution to strengthening Mondragon Unibertsitatea’s impact on society, as well as to the University’s growth and internationalization. Particular emphasis is placed on his personal qualities and his ability to build relationships based on trust, which will leave a lasting mark on the University and on the people who make it up.
The Governing Board has expressed its gratitude and appreciation to Vicente Atxa for his commitment and outstanding work, which leaves Mondragon Unibertsitatea in a strong position to face future challenges.
Finally, the Board has expressed its full confidence in Lander Beloki to assume the responsibility of leading Mondragon Unibertsitatea in this new stage, recognizing that his/her track record and experience provide a solid guarantee for successfully addressing the University’s challenges and opportunities.
