The Faculty of Engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea delivers graduate, master's and doctoral diplomas

Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa has celebrated the act of awarding diplomas to a total of 363 people qualified in the 2017-18 graduation, including 235 graduate degrees, 116 Master’s degrees, and 13 Doctoral degrees.

The event was held on 22 March at the Kursaal, in Donostia, being conducted by the academic secretary of the Higher Polytechnic School, Miren Murgiondo, and attended by the Dean of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Vicente Atxa; the Minister of Education, Cristina Uriarte; the Deputy Councillor of Universities and Research, Adolfo Morais; and the Headmaster of the Carlos García Polytechnic School and academic coordinator Nekane Errasti.

The school of engineering has 3 offices in Gipuzkoa, and the institutional representatives of the municipalities also attended the event, such as the mayor of Mondragon, Maria Ubarretxena; the mayor of Hernani, Luis Intxauspe; and the mayor of Ordicia, José Miguel Santamaría.

First, the diplomas of the Doctoral programme were distributed, followed by the degrees of the Master’s degrees. Alicia Gómez, director of the company DMP Aero gave a conference, which was followed by the delivery of the Graduate degrees. The students had the opportunity to offer a few words to the audience to remember the anecdotes of their university experience, as well as to thank family members and the university itself for the contribution in their training process.

After that, a musical performance was presented to close the event. 

Since its creation, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa has trained over 36,000 technicians, engineers and technologists, with a great impact on companies and society in Gipuzkoa and in the Basque Country as a whole. According to the Employment Survey of Lanbide (2016), the rate of employment of the graduates of the Polytechnic School is 94.2%, with a of 97% rate of graduates who work in the area in which they studied.
