In recent days, the Basque media have paid great attention to some of the projects carried out by Mondragon University Audiovisual Communication students and alumni; specifically, the projects Labur esanda and Ai, ene! carried out by students in their 4th year of study interested in the module entitled Creating new formats and contents, and the podcast Albistekia presented by degree alumnus Asier Errasti.

First, the newspaper Berria took note of the Labur esanda project. With this project, 4th-year students Luken Ugarteburu, Gontzal Belategi, Ramón Elizondo, Peru Atxa and Oier Abarrategi aimed to address the following concern: there is less and less consumption of information products by young people, at least in traditional media channels. For this purpose, the students designed a program with news presented in a short form in the portrait format for consumption in Basque. According to the design, there will be three publications a day: in the morning, at midday, and at the end of the day. With youth language and humor, these reports will address various topics that are interesting to young people. They have already been posted on the news prototypes network. The Goiena Communication Group has also reported on the Labur esanda project.

In addition, EITB has shown interest in the Ai ene! project. ¡Ay, cielos! Is an itinerant radio and television program that aims to keep the elderly company. Students Marina Perosanz, Sara Iriarte, Josune Blanco, Garaia Pagola and Leire Uranga have already recorded the first prototype of the program in Tolosa. Time has been made for this project on Euskadi Radio’s programa Faktoria.

On November 30, in Tabakalera in San Sebastian, 4th-year students presented the pre-designs of projects carried out as part of the Creating new formats and contents module. The presentation, under the direction of Mondragon University instructor and module coordinator Beñat Flores, saw the participation of Itziar Orbegozo (2DEO), Jon Lamarka (EITBLab) and Goiatz Oiartzabal (Badalab) as the jury.

Additionally, Audiovisual Communication alumnus and member of the Sutan Bang group Asier Errasti presented a new project in the newspaper Berria: a podcast called Albistekia that focuses on technology. The podcast will deal with information at different levels. The communicator from San Sebastian wants the program to be interesting and useful both for technophiles and for others who have little understanding of technology. The podcast will last 15 minutes and will consist of short news items.
