The research projects we have in hand will address different areas such as STEM knowledge, educational innovation, governance, and transformation and social entrepreneurship.

The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University has acquired eight competitive projects in the current academic year. These projects, which have different durations and in which we have different roles, will address different areas of knowledge of the Faculty, such as STEM issues, educational innovation, governance, and transformation and social entrepreneurship. Some of these projects are continuations of research previously initiated.

The competitive projects are the following:

Unfolding Collaborative Online International Learning Didactics (UCOILD) (KA220-HED-2021-08): European Union

This is a project that we are developing together with the universities of Copenhagen, Oslo and Amsterdam. The objective is to promote the internationalization of Early Childhood Education students through short training courses designed and developed by the four universities. In this project, the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences be a partner.

#FP21. Challenge-based learning for an open Industry 4.0. Ministry of Education and Vocational Training

Project in collaboration with Jesús Marín Polytechnic High School together with María Moliner High School, the Don Bosco High Level Vocational Training Institute and El Palmeral High School. The project aims to develop and implement the ETHAZI method developed in the BAC in other educational centers of the Spanish State. At the same time, we anticipate the development of the following technologies: i3D of PCBs, FPGAs and ROS for robots. In this project, we will be a partner.

STEMotiv: stimulate student STEM motivation through data intelligence, a tool to enhance the scientific-technological business network of Gipuzkoa

This project was introduced by the Science, Technology and Health (ZiTeO) research group of the Faculty, the Vicomtech Technology Center team for Data Intelligence for Energy and Industrial Processes, and Ikaslan Gipuzkoa. Through Machine Learning and Big Data, one of the branches of Artificial Intelligence, this project will analyze the strategies and effectiveness of tools to influence the methodological training of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) teachers and measure the motivation and interest of students in STEM subjects.

LanHezi: collaboration between companies and Vocational Training centers, generation of knowledge to influence the socioeconomic ecosystem of Gipuzkoa and the quality of future employment

This project was introduced by the Science, Technology and Health (ZiTeO) research group of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University, Saiolan, the Vicomtech Technology Center group for Data Intelligence for Energy and Industrial Processes, and the Fagor Group. Its purpose is to strengthen the link between companies and VET centers and to develop and improve personalized learning processes based on their needs and opportunities, in order to boost the territorial economy of Gipuzkoa and have an impact on current and future employment.

Eragin: a platform to transform education, quality employment, and work and employment centers

The main objective of this project is to promote initiatives for the transformation of employment and quality work and employment centers in educational institutions. Therefore, with this main objective in mind, the project aims, on the one hand, to define and evaluate the key conditions and competencies of the teaching staff and, on the other, to evaluate the relationship of those key conditions and competencies with student talent.

The responsible person in the cooperative company: identification and development of institutional factors

In this project, based on the work carried out in collaboration with the Social Management department of the Mondragon Group on the definition and implementation of a renewed framework for Cooperative Governance, we intend to take a new step in strengthening the culture of co-responsibility in cooperatives. Specifically, it is a matter of creating a channel for intervention that makes it possible to identify, characterize and assess with cooperative agents the factors or institutional dimensions that enable the promotion of a culture based on the responsibility of the people in the cooperatives.

Mondragon ZTIM (STEM) HUB: STEM Vocations and Knowledge network, in collaboration with MGEP

This is a project that we carry out in collaboration with the Mondragon Higher Polytechnic School to promote STEM processes.

KoopFabrika 2021-2022

This project has brought together OlatuKoop, whose objective is to promote a transformative social economy, and LANKI, the Institute of Cooperative Research of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. The aim of the KoopFabrika project is to promote the transformative social economy and social entrepreneurship in the Basque Country.
