The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences has announced the second annual “GipuzkoHarrok” video competition aimed at young people. The project will be carried out with assistance from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the sponsorship of Laboral Kutxa. The aim of the competition is to imagine the work of the future in Gipuzkoa, for which participants will have to answer the question “What will the employment of future Gipuzkoans be like?” Videos must be between 30 and 90 seconds long and may be recorded in portrait or landscape format.

The competition has two categories: one for participants over 18 years old and one for those under 18. Regarding awards, in the adult category, the winning work will receive 700 euros and the second prize winner will receive 300 euros. In the youth category, the first prize winner will be awarded 500 euros and second prize will be 200 euros. In addition, there will be a special prize of 300 euros. The deadline to submit videos is April 30, 2024.

Project to enhance the employability of the workers of the future

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the role and employability of the lifelong learning system in Gipuzkoa. The project is based on the idea that employability education begins before entering the workforce and that it includes lifelong learning, requiring the development of key and cross-curricular skills and an understanding of the context of the transitions we are experiencing.

The Empleando project offers a workshop and escape room in schools to work on the employability of future workers. On the one hand, these will help participants to work on the key skills (flexibility, commitment, learning, active citizenship and guidance) of the workers of the immediate future. On the other hand, they will help us to understand that the transitions we are experiencing represent a different scenario for Gipuzkoa.

The ‘GipuzkoHarrok’ competition

The project, led by researchers from the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, is practical in nature, not just theoretical or design-oriented. Therefore, students from different schools in Gipuzkoa are participating in the workshop and the escape room, in addition to participating in the “GipuzkoHarrok” competition this week.

The awards ceremony of the “GipuzkoHarrok” competition will take place on 23 May, 2024, on the Eskoriatza campus of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University. This is the second annual “GipuzkoHarrok” competition.
