Fifty students from the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design and Product Development at Mondragon Unibertsitatea participated in an inspiring session on sand and injection casting mold design, taught by Eber Arregi, a researcher at Ederlan's Edertek technology center.

The talk was held as part of the Manufacturing Processes course and aimed to bring academic theory closer to industrial practice.

During the session, students were able to learn firsthand:

  • Sand casting: contextualization of the process, design of model plates and sand core plates, as well as defect analysis and validation through simulation.
  • Aluminum injection: contextualization of the process, rules for injection mold design, defect identification and solutions, and finally, design validation based on simulation.

A very enriching day aligned with Mondragon Unibertsitatea's educational model, bringing industrial reality into the classroom and strengthening the connection between academic training and the needs of the productive sector.

It is a true pleasure to welcome leading companies from the MONDRAGON group, such as Ederlan, who share their knowledge and experience to inspire the engineers of the future.
