The PLATSOSTENIBILIDAD project, financed within the framework of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism's 2022b grants for AEIs (Innovative Business Groups), is focused on the development of a technological tool with advanced analytics and artificial intelligence that facilitates the collection of data related to sustainability in a simple, intuitive and autonomous way. In this way, it is possible to quantify the current environmental, economic and social impact of the agri-food sector, as well as to provide companies with an action plan to help reduce these impacts. To this end, the project led by the Agri-Food Cluster of Navarra NAGRIFOOD in collaboration with EROSKI S. Coop. as the driving force behind the project, has counted on the participation of the engineering and consulting company PROYECTOS NAVARRA (Navarra), the software developers DIGITAL 21 (Galicia and Madrid), the research center attached to the Business Faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, MIK S. COOP. (Basque Country) and the agri-food SMEs from Navarra GESPORC NAVARRA SL, BERIPAN S.L. and BRI, S.A.

During this first phase, the main environmental problems caused by the agri-food sector have been identified, as well as the most important causal relationships between them, in order to define the objectives of sustainability improvement at sector level. Likewise, the development of a first alpha version of the expert system (minimum viable product) has been carried out, where the global competitive potential of the companies is measured in terms of environmental sustainability and the main strengths and weaknesses of the three axes of sustainability are identified: economic, social and environmental. With all this, the design of different reference profiles has been carried out, allowing companies to make a comparison with similar entities.

The PLATSOSTENIBILIDAD project is included in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan within the 2022 call for AEI aid for Innovative Business Groups 2022B of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism MINCOTUR and is financed by European Union funds - Next Generation EU.
