The Business Faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea has been one of the six Basque entities winners of the International Innovation Award, Quality Innovation Award 2023, together with Ormazabal, Zunibari, Zola sistemas, Ludus Tech, and Diputación Foral de Bizkaia. All of them will receive their recognition on April 10 in Zhuhai, China. These organizations have competed alongside more than 562 entities from the rest of the 14 participating countries, and have won 6 of the 24 awards.

Specifically, Mondragon Unibertsitatea has been awarded the international QIA (Quality Innovation Award), in the category of Education for its program "Technologies for a world in transition", which is taught in the third year of the LEINN degree (Official Degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation), through the Mondragon Team Academy.

The Quality Innovation Award (QIA) is an international competition created in 2007 by Excellence Finland with the aim of boosting the competitiveness of innovative projects among the organizations and member countries of the QIA Advisory Board, which are Finland, Sweden, Israel, Spain and China: Finland, Sweden, Israel, Spain and China. In the Basque Country, this recognition is granted by Euskalit (member of the QIA Advisory Board) and is certified by Innobasque, Unibasq and Ihobe.

"Technologies for a world in transition". 

"Technologies for a world in transition" is a program taught in the third year of the LEINN (Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation) degree of the laboratories of Irun, Oñati, Bilbao and Internacional in addition to Valencia, Madrid, and Barcelona through Teamlabs, TAZEBAEZ and Florida Universitaria University, the Iberoamerican University of Puebla and HBM of Korea. The objective is to reinforce STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) skills in the projects of young team entrepreneurs from the perspective of the triple impact (social, economic, environmental), in addition to sustainable development and the perspective of a world of finite resources.

LEINN team entrepreneurs learn about the reality of exponential technologies and are able to analyze the success factors and keys used, in addition to knowing and knowing how to use the main specific tools and their application to emerging industries and sectors. In short, the program seeks to inspire vocations and professional aspirations related to technology in people who are already in the field of entrepreneurship and business.

Quality Innovation Award (QIA)

This competition, in which EUSKALIT has been collaborating since 2015, seeks to help increase the competitiveness of participating organizations and countries through two phases: one local and one international. For the local phase a team of 30 people from EUSKALIT's Advanced Management Evaluation Club evaluated the more than 40 applications and a group of innovation experts identified by UNIBASQ, the Basque University System Quality Agency collaborated in choosing the finalists in each category. Finally, a Jury composed of representatives of the organizations of the Board of Trustees of EUSKALIT, Innobasque and IHOBE, chose the winning candidates of the Basque phase.

This Award arose in Finland to stimulate the emergence and development of product, process, organizational innovations, etc. and other countries such as Spain (through the CEX association and EUSKALIT in the Basque Country), Sweden, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Serbia, China, India, Israel, Kazakhstan and several countries in southern Africa participate. China currently holds the presidency and Euskadi, through EUSKALIT, participates in the Advisory Committee.
