The project that has won the first prize has been Orit, an App that permits the exchange of food between users.

Last Friday, 17 January, Mondragon University delivered the awards of the second editions of Changemaker Lab.

The projects that were presented are the next ones:

  • Orit: An App where the users, young people between the age of 25-35 principally, can publish the food that in other case would go to the trash to share it with others that can find near them. It is an option to exchange the food between users.
  • E-corner: The value proposition of this vending machine E-corner is about minimizing as much as possible the waste by a method of return of glass packaging to reuse it. There will be fresh and healthy food while being gentle with the atmosphere by contributing an experience to the client that is never seen in a vending machine. The aim is to offer fresh food by being gentle with the world avoiding nearly all the waste.
  • Behind the tree: Training courses working in collaboration with ONGs about the following topics:
    • Practices with solar energy
    • Entrepreneurship workshops
    • Audiovisual workshop
    • Sustainable orchards
    • Circular economy classe 
  • BiPens:Fusion with the everyday food with the education. Design of places where the children are able to let the imagination fly in a space where nature, feeding and education are connected.
  • Repera: The aim is to give a second opportunity to that fruits and vegetables that are not accepted in shops because of their imperfections. Collection of all this food to make new final products.
The awarded projects were the next ones:
  • First prize: Orit
  • Second prize: Repera
  • Third prize: BiPens

The aim of this program that has launched Mondragon University named Changemaker Lab was to encourage entrepreneurship in multidisciplinary groups between students in different faculties of the university. It has lasted four months and 22 students have taken part on it, the name of this students have been “change makers” and the objective has been to encourage the development and the evolution in entrepreneurial teams to encourage the creation of companies.

The action is based on the methodology MTA (Mondragon Team Academy) the international entrepreneurship net in Mondragon University and it proposes an innovative training process based on the students themselves -change makers-, the mentors or coaches -they are no longer teachers-, the interdisciplinary spaces -and not classes- and real challenges -and not subjects-. The program is sponsored by KIMU BERRI and promoted by GAZTENPRESA.
