The LEINN community’s commitment to sustainability and global impact once again takes center stage. This time, the recognition comes from The Bay Awards - Metropoli Edition, which highlight projects that transform the territory and its external image.

Tackling textile waste: A mission without borders

Duara Innovation Agency is not just a brand; it is an international collective bringing together 10 entrepreneurs from four countries under a critical mission: tackling textile waste.

Their flagship project, “From Waste to Fashion”, has radically reshaped the concept of sustainable design. Through pioneering competitions, Duara creates spaces in shopping centers where young local designers transform textile waste from nearby brands into new design pieces — all in front of a live audience. This format not only innovates the creative process but also educates consumers about waste perception in Spain and India, with expansion plans in Germany, Korea, and Finland.

Innovation and social impact in the Global South

Beyond design, Olatz Martija and Anne del Moral are scaling their impact through the development of a tech startup. Their goal is to address the critical volume of textile waste from the Global North that ends up in landfills in the Global South.

"Our mission merges innovation with social impact. We don’t just want to fight environmental pollution — we want to improve the lives of people living alongside textile waste through sustainable employment," explain the founders.

A Team Leadership (LEINN) success story

Duara reaching the finals of The Bay Awards in the Circular Model of the Fashion Industry category is yet another example of how the LEINN methodology enables young people to identify global challenges and propose purpose-driven business solutions.

Seeing leinners from our community leading the transition towards a circular economy reinforces our vision: entrepreneurship is the most powerful tool to transform waste into real opportunities for human and environmental development.

Best of luck to Olatz and Anne in the final! Their journey is already a source of pride for the entire community.
