- Nature of the project: Design and testing of an interterritorial network of sustainable and cooperative industrial entrepreneurship
A network designed to cooperate, learn and invest sustainably
RUTA 2008 has been the first step towards the creation of an inter-territorial network of sustainable industrial entrepreneurship, driven by centres that share the same vision: to turn cooperation, learning and shared investment into engines of industrial transformation.
The project has served to design the complete architecture of the RUTA network, test it with several industrial startups and define a cooperative and open governance model that allows the integration of new partners and ecosystems.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, the network has developed the first prototypes of key tools for future deployment:
- The design of the XRL (Exploitation Readiness Level) concept, a model of maturity and support for start-ups, based on 6 criteria, which is intended to be accompanied by an XRL ACADEMY training programme aimed at measuring and strengthening the exploitation capacities and impact of sustainable industrial projects.
- The conceptual design of the RUTA Fund, a collaborative investment fund aimed at supporting projects with high potential for social, economic and environmental impact.
- The creation of the governance and shared services platform, which allows cooperation between centres and startups to be managed in a transparent way.
Results of the 2025 phase: from design to testing
During this first life cycle, RUTA 2008 has achieved:
- Validate the network model with pilot startups in different stages of maturity, checking the applicability of the XRL approach.
- Design the cooperative governance framework and inter-centre coordination mechanisms.
- Define the catalogue of inter-centre services that connects technology, business, investment and impact.
- Lay the foundation for comprehensive 4P (People, Planet, Profit, Persons) measurement on all projects.
- Consolidate an XRL level 4, corresponding to the validated testing phase, with a roadmap to XRL level 7 in 2026.
💡 An open network for those who believe in cooperation
RUTA 2008 is defined as a network of networks, open to centres, companies, investors and public agents who want to build together a sustainable, inclusive and purposeful industry.
A space made only for the brave... or for those who deeply believe in the transformative power of cooperation.
