In the 2021-22 academic year, five students from Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa will participate in the Erasmus programme. Thanks to this programme, these 5 people will be able to have a 3-month mobility experience in order to carry out work experience

Some of these participants have accessed the grant through the standard procedure of the Erasmus programme, although, for the fourth consecutive year, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa has allowed students from the dual programme to also participate in the mobility programme. It is worth noting that this educational centre was the first and only institution in the Basque Country to offer this opportunity to students on vocational training courses.

The Erasmus programme has allowed students in the second year of vocational training to have mobility experiences in Europe since 2001. However, students taking the DUAL modality (modality that allows alternating studies and work during the whole second year of studies) were excluded from the programme. This led the Polytechnic School to open up new avenues of collaboration with companies in the region and to design a win-win strategy. This initiative began to bear fruit in 2019 and since then both programmes have been compatible.

This year, five students will travel abroad between March and June to cities such as Prague (Czech Republic), Krakow and Rzeszow (Poland) and Cluj (Romania). For some of them it will be their first experience in a company, but for those who have already participated in the dual programme, the work placement will be in another European subsidiary of the same organisation where they have done the dual training.

The Erasmus programme is increasingly recognised in vocational training, as evidenced by the results of surveys in previous years. Those who have already participated in this programme insist that it is a unique and unrepeatable experience, both from an educational and personal point of view.
