Henceforth, Begoña Pedrosa will work in the department headed by Jokin Bildarratz. Pedrosa has worked for Mondragon University for 18 years, where for the past six years she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences.

Begoña Pedrosa (Areatza, Biscay, 1975), Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences at Mondragon University, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Education of the Basque Government. In the Department of Education, she will work under Minister of Education Jokin Bildarratz.

Begoña Pedrosa holds a degree in English Philology and a doctorate in Applied Linguistics. She has worked for Mondragon University for 18 years, where for the past six years she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences.

During her tenure as dean, she has focused primarily on educational innovation, transformation and digitalization. She has also encouraged the creation of new academic offerings for university Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and has promoted collaborative research between the university and schools.

Additionally, Pedrosa served as professor and researcher in the Department of Didactics of Language and Literature in the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences. As an educator, she has coordinated many different innovation projects in both the Education and Audiovisual Communication programs, and has been involved in the management of the doctoral program and research panel.

As a researcher, Pedrosa has done outstanding work on the development of multilingual competence in minority language contexts, pedagogical strategies in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) contexts, and student attitudes toward language learning.

Begoña Pedrosa speaks four languages: Basque, English, Spanish and Catalan.
