The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University has organized a conference on December 17 under the title Children of immigrants and the Basque language: the voice of 20 years of experience (original title in Basque, Etorkinen seme-alabak eta euskara, 20 urteko esperientzien ahotsa). The event will be held on the Eskoriatza campus, in room D.0.3, and registration is limited. The conference will be held in Basque.

Registration: Children of immigrants and the Basque language: the voice of 20 years of experience

The conference will include not only recently retired professionals who worked for years in teaching, consulting and research, but also the voices of young people who learned Basque in the Basque educational system during those same years.

The conference aims to bring together the experiences and reflections of all: what have we learned in this process, what remains to be improved, what challenges are there... In fact, the learning of the Basque language by children of immigrant families is a challenge of the first order and, after 20 years of teaching and learning, it is important to gather and share what has been experienced and what has been learned.
