The STEMotiv project, promoted by the ZiTeO research group of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University, has won second prize in the STEAM Euskadi Awards. The competition is organized by the Department of Education of the Basque Government and aims to reward the best practices in scientific-technological education.

The awards ceremony, which took place on June 8 in Bilbao, was attended by ZiTeO representatives Unai Carmona and Patricia Aranzazu González. The former presented the project and the latter accepted the award.

The main objectives of the STEMotiv project are to foster STEM education and promote STEM studies among students, especially among girls, and to provide the means to improve the skills necessary for this. In this second year of the project, procured in competition, the group will give continuity to the research started last year and will delve deeper into training teachers to teach STEM subjects.

The following educational centers are participating in the STEMotiv project: Salbatore Mitxelena School, Mutriku Secondary School, Herrikide, Zumaiena School, Zubiri Manteo Secondary School, Kurtzebarri Secondary School, Easo Politeknikoa Integrated Vocational Training Center, Oñati Secondary School, Usurbil Integrated Vocational Training Center, Fraisoro Integrated Vocational Training Center and TKNIKA.
